Bill Parcells Sounds Off on Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft Hall of Fame Snubs, 'A Mockery'

Zach BacharFeb 7, 2026

Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Parcells wasn't pleased after Patriots owner Robert Kraft and fellow former New England coach Bill Belichick were both left out of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's 2026 class.

"The voters made a mockery of the whole thing," Parcells told Dianna Russini of The Athletic. "Too many people get personal with their feelings instead of doing the job. That's what happened here."

Belichick and Kraft didn't receive enough votes in their first year on the ballot, a surprising result considering their immense success together.

New England won six Super Bowl titles with Belichick patrolling the sidelines after Kraft hired him in 2000. The Patriots finished with a 266-121 record during their shared tenure, posting a 30-12 mark in the playoffs.

On Jan. 27, ESPN's Don Van Natta Jr. and Seth Wickersham reported that the Spygate and Deflategate scandals surfaced when voters discussed Belichick's candidacy. The same reasons could have been used against Kraft as well.

Still, it was a shock that neither was able to earn a spot in the Hall.

As for Parcells, the Hall of Fame coach spent four seasons as head coach of the Patriots from 1993-96.
