The emotion of her final Olympic run while also dealing with a torn ACL is starting to hit Lindsey Vonn, who shared a message on social media as she prepares for the women's downhill event on Sunday.

Vonn posted her message on Instagram, writing that she "can guarantee I will give it everything I have" and "no matter what happens, I have already won."

It wasn't even clear if Vonn would be able to compete in the Olympics after a crash during her run at the World cup on Jan. 30 left her with an injured knee.

Vonn later confirmed her ACL was "100 percent ruptured," but she has been able to go through training runs without any obvious issues. Her final training run on Saturday was two seconds faster than her time on Friday.

Per Alessandro Poggi of Olympics.com, Vonn's time of 1:38.28 was the third-fastest time on Saturday among the skiiers who were able to get in a practice run. Weather conditions forced them to be halted after 21 racers had started.

"I think it's everything OK," Vonn's coach, Aksel Lund Svindal, said about her routine medical check after the run (h/t Poggi). "... This is as ready as she will be and I believe that she has a good chance at being top 3."

Vonn announced a return to competition in November 2024 after retiring for the second time following the 2019 World Championships. The announcement came just seven months after she had knee replacement surgery.

The 41-year-old officially qualified for the Olympics in December. She will be competing in the Winter Games for the fifth time in her storied career. Vonn has three Olympic medals, including a gold in the downhill at the 2010 Games.

Vonn, who became the oldest woman to medal in an Olympic ski race in 2018, can become the oldest athlete overall to medal in an Alpine skiing event if she finishes in the top three on Sunday. France's Johan Clarey was 41 when he won silver in 2022.

The women's downhill final will begin at 5:30 a.m. ET on Sunday.
