Ohtani and Team Japan are attempting to clinch a second consecutive WBC title following a thrilling 3-2 win over Team USA in the 2023 championship game.

While Ohtani is known for his prowess both on the mound and at the plate, he'll be limited to strictly hitting in the 2026 event while he prepares to help the Dodgers capture a third consecutive World Series victory.

Still, Team Japan boasts an impressive rotation that includes Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Yusei Kikuchi, Tomoyuki Sugano and Yuki Matsui.

As for the U.S. squad, it'll be attempting to avenge its 2023 defeat and emerge victorious in the competition for the first time since 2017.

Judge is making his first WBC appearance and should be a strong addition to Team USA's lineup. The three-time American League MVP is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he recorded 53 home runs and 114 RBI while slashing .331/.457/.688.

The rest of Team USA's squad also includes Bobby Witt Jr., Tarik Skubal, Cal Raleigh, Paul Skenes and Pete Crow-Armstrong.

The Dominican Republic previously won the WBC in 2013 and enters the 2026 event with a roster filled with MLB stars.

Juan Soto, Julio Rodríguez, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ketel Marte, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado will give the Dominican Republic one of the most imposing lineups in the event.

The 2026 WBC will begin on March 5 at the Tokyo Dome.
