Williams received the Agile Extender ability in the game, allowing him to evade the first sack attempt by a blitzing defensive back. He also earned the Gutsy Scrambler ability, giving him a reduced chance to be impacted by throw penalties caused by defensive pressure while scrambling.
The 24-year-old is coming off an encouraging second season in Chicago, completing 58.1 percent of his throws for 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns compared to seven interceptions. He also rushed for 388 yards and three scores.
The Bears won the NFC North with an 11-6 record, advancing to the divisional round of the playoffs before falling to the Los Angeles Rams.
Williams displayed his improvisation skills throughout Chicago's postseason run, helping the team erase a 21-3 halftime deficit against the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round.
With the Bears facing fourth down and eight yards to gain while still trailing by two scores late in the fourth quarter, Williams rolled out and connected with Rome Odunze to move the chains and keep his team alive.
While Chicago ultimately lost to the Rams in overtime, the game nearly ended in regulation before Williams came through again.
During another fourth-down play while trailing 17-10 and just under 30 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, the signal-caller drifted back in the pocket before launching the ball downfield to tight end Cole Kmet to tie the game.
As Williams prepares for his third season with the Bears, his playoff heroics were reflected in Madden NFL 26.
