Joseph ZuckerFeb 3, 2026

Gamers got their first look at MLB The Show 26 on Tuesday with a brand-new gameplay trailer.

Eleven new schools have been added to the "Road to the Show" mode. Players have expanded attribute sets. The Show 26 is also adding national teams to coincide with the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The hype video closed by teasing Albert Pujols and Félix Hernández as new "Diamond Dynasty" legends.

San Diego Studio announced that New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is the cover star for the second time. He was previously the face of MLB The Show 18.

The cover teased wider integration of the WBC as Team USA received prominent placement alongside the Yankees and Fresno State, Judge's alma mater.

The developers adopted a similar tactic last year when the presence of LSU's logo foreshadowed the addition of college teams for "Road to the Show." Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes, one of the three cover stars, played collegiately for the Tigers.

More gameplay details are forthcoming this week. Fans will get a deeper breakdown of the changes to fielding on Thursday, which include a new pop time attribute for catchers and directional reaction ratings for position players.

MLB The Show 26 is available for pre-order ahead of its March 17 release. Those who purchase the digital deluxe edition will have early access starting March 13.
