NFL Fans Troll Matt Nagy Hiring as Giants OC for Jaxson Dart, John Harbaugh amid Contract Rumors
The New York Giants are bringing in an OC experienced working with Patrick Mahomes to help guide Jaxson Dart's development going forward.
Giants head coach John Harbaugh is hiring former Chiefs OC Matt Nagy as his first offensive coordinator in New York, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday.
The hire drew mixed reviews from fans who watched Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense crater during their final season with Nagy in 2025.

Nagy previously spent four years as head coach of the Chicago Bears before joining the Chiefs for three seasons, including during their championship 2023 campaign.
The hiring comes after the Giants reportedly missed out on multiple other options for offensive coordinator.
Harbaugh's first choice for his offensive coordinator was seemingly his former Baltimore Ravens OC, Todd Monken, who has since accepted a head coaching jobs with the Cleveland Browns.
Harbaugh said last week that he'd tried to talk Monken out of taking the job with the Browns, per NJ.com's Bob Brookover.
"I really thought he was coming with us, but Cleveland was in there all along," Harbaugh said about Monken.
SNY's Connor Hughes also reported Tuesday that the Giants had a "strong desire" to bring in LSU offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., who worked with Jaxson Dart at Ole Miss.
"Ultimately, Weiss didn't want to leave LSU," Hughes wrote.
Harbaugh had previously said he spoke with Chiefs head coach Andy Reid between his dismissal by the Ravens and his decision to take the Giants job.
He has now pivoted to a coordinator with four years of experience under Reid, including one as a quarterbacks coach and three as OC.
After winning two Super Bowls during Nagy's first two seasons with the franchise, Mahomes saw his numbers dip as the Chiefs' offense overall took a step back over the last two campaigns.
Harbaugh will still hope Nagy's experience with deploying run-pass options for Mahomes in Kansas City can help him both develop Dart's mobility and help other key offensive players like Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo take a step forward in their development in 2026.
