Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk Set for WWE WrestleMania 42 Main Event After Heated Promo

An electric matchup is set for WrestleMania 42 in April.

Roman Reigns will face CM Punk at the event after a heated exchange between the two on Monday.

"I could pick you because you're the biggest star available. I could, yeah. I could pick you because you're on Netflix and you're on the best show. I could," Reigns said. "But no. I'm picking you because I hate you. I've always hated you."

Reigns entered the ring on Monday to greet the fans and celebrate his win in Royal Rumble. He then asked the crowd who he should face at WrestleMania, between Punk and Drew McIntyre. After the crowd chanted for Punk, he emerged.

Rather than addressing Reigns, Punk called out Finn Bálor at first.

"Finn Bálor, I heard what you said," Punk said. "You don't think you're a bad guy? Well I know when I'm pushed, I am the baddest guy, and you're gonna find out very soon when I get my hands on you."

Reigns clearly didn't like Punk interrupting his segment to call out another wrestler.

"You're coming out here interrupting my segment to talk about Finn Bálor?" he said.

Punk then called Reigns a "visitor" on his show and called himself the "champ" who "calls the shots." He also hyped up the crowd about the prospect of a Reigns vs. Punk matchup, but said he didn't think Reigns would be willing to face him.

"I am pretty sure that your mind is already made up. I know who you're picking," Punk said. "So go ahead, take the easy way out. Pick Drew McIntyre."

It turns out Reigns won't "take the easy way out" and will instead get a bout against Punk, which is sure to deliver after an electric promotion on Monday. Fans will get to see the two go at it at WrestleMania 42, which takes place April 18 and 19 in Las Vegas.
