Sean McVay Talks Rams OC Search, Jokes That It Cuts Into Vacation Time
The Arizona Cardinals hired Mike LaFleur as their new head coach, meaning the Los Angeles Rams are now in search of a new offensive coordinator.
Rams head coach Sean McVay anticipated someone from his staff getting picked up in this year's coaching cycle, which allowed him to evaluate some candidates from within, though he still plans to conduct "an extensive search."
"I did think that this was something that could occur, so we've got great candidates in-house," McVay told reporters. "Based on the rules and I think what is the appropriate thing, are you going to do an extensive search to really just dive into what's going to be the best way to bring in new people that help us continue to build and grow towards where we want to go?"

McVay also joked that the search is cutting into his vacation time.
"It never fails," McVay said. "Every time me and my wife go on vacation, somebody's usually getting a head job and then I'm spending too much time on my phone."
The Rams had one of the best offenses in the league under LeFleur in 2025, leading the league in yards per game (394.5) and points per game (30.5), meaning Los Angeles' next offensive coordinator will have big shoes to fill.
