Eagles' Jalen Hurts Eyes Return to Super Bowl, 'Looking for the Pattern to Repeat Itself' in 2027

Timothy RappFeb 2, 2026

The Eagles have established an interesting pattern for themselves in the past four seasons.

In 2022, they were a Super Bowl team, coming up just short against the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2023, they suffered a late-season collapse and fired their offensive and defensive coordinators. In 2024, they were the Super Bowl champions, annihilating the Chiefs in the big game. And in 202,5 they again underachieved and replaced their offensive coordinator.

So quarterback Jalen Hurts is looking forward to a successful 2026 campaign, assuming the pattern holds:

"Looking for the pattern to repeat itself," he said from the Pro Bowl. "It takes a lot of work and a lot of time, but you know, we're enjoying this time right now before we even get to that point. You know what the end goal is all the time, though."

The Eagles are hoping new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion and new pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard can revitalize an offense that dramatically underachieved in 2025. The passing game in particular grew stale and predictable under former offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, and fans clamored for a change this offseason.

Mannion will have his work cut out for him in his first season as an offensive coordinator, but in Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and a veteran offensive line, he has an excellent foundation to build upon.
