Justin Rose Breaks Tiger Woods' Record with Win at Torrey Pines, 'Sorry T-Dub'

Andrew PetersFeb 1, 2026

Tiger Woods has a number of unbreakable records, but he lost one of them on Sunday.

On his way to winning the Farmers Insurance Open, Justin Rose finished at 23-under 265, one stroke better than Woods' set at Torrey Pines in 1999.

"Sorry, T-dub, if you're watching," Rose joked on the CBS broadcast afterwards (h/t the Associated Press).

Rose finished seven strokes ahead of the second-place Pierceson Coody. Such a lead gave him the chance to chase the record on the final few holes.

"I was keenly aware of it, actually," Rose said. "It was the only thing I was focused on the last three holes."

The win for Rose marked his second at Torrey Pines and his 13th title on the PGA Tour. The former U.S. Open winner is hoping the win will be the start of a strong season ahead.

"I still believe there's good stuff in front of me," Rose said.
