
Phil Mickelson Will Miss 2 LIV Golf Events Due to Family Health Matter
Phil Mickelson will miss the first two LIV Golf events of the year because of a family health matter, the golfer announced on social media on Sunday.
"I will not be able to participate in the first two LIV events as Amy and I need to be present for a family health matter," he wrote. "I can't wait to compete again and look forward to rejoining my teammates as soon as possible. In the meantime, Ollie Schniederjans will step in for me in Riyadh as I root on HyFlyers GC from afar."
The LIV Golf season begins on Wednesday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After that, LIV will head to Adelaide, Australia, the week of February 12.
With Mickelson set to miss two events, HyFlyers GC will look to manage without their captain. The team consists of Brendan Steele, Cameron Tringale, Michael La Sasso and now Schniederjans, who will fill in for Mickelson.
Mickelson has been apart of LIV Golf since its inaugural season in 2022. He was on the PGA Tour from 1992 until 2021, winning six majors during that itme.
