Patriots Star's Sister Bet $5 on Seahawks-Pats Super Bowl Matchup in Preseason, How Much Is Payout?
NFL fans are expected to wager a record amount of money on next Sunday's Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.
Perhaps some of them should turn to the sister of Patriots fullback Jack Westover for advice.
Westover revealed during an interview with KJR 93.3 FM (h/t ESPN's Mike Reiss) that his sister made a $5 bet in training camp that New England would play Seattle in the Super Bowl. The payout ended up being a nice $18,000.

"She has her second baby on the way, so she's happy about that," he said while laughing.
It was quite the prediction seeing how New England went 4-13 last season and finished in last place in the AFC East. Seattle also missed the playoffs during the 2024 campaign, although it was better at 10-7.
Still, there were lingering question marks for the Seahawks as well considering they moved on from Geno Smith and instead handed the offense to Sam Darnold.
Westover's sister clearly believed both teams would improve, and they certainly did with Darnold playing well in Seattle and new head coach Mike Vrabel spearheading a turnaround alongside second-year quarterback Drake Maye in New England.
There may have been some bias in play considering her brother plays for the Patriots and is from the state of Washington and played collegiately for the Washington Huskies, but it paid off in a major way.
Plenty of bettors will be dreaming of a payout like that when they wager on the upcoming Super Bowl.
ESPN's David Purdum reported the American Gaming Association expects approximately $1.76 billion in Super Bowl bets, which would be a record and an increase of nearly 27 percent from last year's game.
Westover's sister now has some extra cash to play with if she wants to join in on the record-setting gambling.
