UFC's Justin Gaethje Talks Using ChatGPT For Recovery Advice Ahead of Paddy Pimblett Fight in Video
Justin Gaethje revealed that he used ChatGPT for recovery advice last Saturday prior to his unanimous decision win over Paddy Pimblett for the interim UFC Lightweight Championship.
Gaethje made his remarks on the latest edition of the "What Hones You" show in collaboration with ONX Sports.
Whatever Gaethje did in the lead-up prior to his big win over Pamblett clearly worked. The 37-year-old is now the oldest fighter to ever win a UFC lightweight title after his big victory (48–47, 49–46, 49–46). Per UFC Stats, Gaethje earned two knockdowns and three takedowns. He also landed 120 significant strikes to the head.
Gaethje, who has now won four of his last five fights, became a two-time interim UFC Lightweight champion with the victory. He also won the belt on May 9, 2020 when he defeated Tony Ferguson via fifth-round TKO at UFC 249.
A unification title battle with the current lightweight champion, the undefeated Ilia Topuria, looms at some point. Topuria previously announced he would not fight in the first quarter of 2026 due to personal reasons.
For now, Gaethje basks in the glow of his victory, which led to a 27-5 record (20 knockouts) overall in his MMA career.
