RAPTORS' WILD GAME-WINNER 😱

Australian Open 2026 Men's Final Bracket, TV Schedule, Start Time and Live Stream

The 10th-ever meeting between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic has plenty at stake.

Alcaraz will try to win his first Australian Open on Sunday. If he does, he'll complete the career grand slam at 22 years old.

Djokovic is aiming to win his 25th Grand Slam title. That would make him the winningest male or female in Grand Slam history.

Preview

All nine of the previous meetings between Alcaraz and Djokovic took place in the quarterfinals, semifinals or final of a tournament.

Alcaraz is 2-0 against Djokovic in Grand Slam finals. He beat Djokovic in 2023 and 2024 at Wimbledon.

However, Djokovic returned the favor at the 2024 Paris Olympics and on the Cincinnati hard court in 2023.

Djokovic owns a 5-4 overall advantage in the head-to-head matchup. His last win in the series occurred a year ago in the Australian Open quarterfinals.

Djokovic should hold the edge in rest as well. He didn't play in the fourth round due to an injury withdrawal, played just two sets in the quarters and was on the court for an hour less than Alcaraz in the semifinals.

Alcaraz battled for five hours and 27 minutes to beat Alexander Zverev on Friday. He won every other match by straight sets, so his legs should recover in time.

If you are looking for an edge in favor of Djokovic, he has spent less time on the court in the last few rounds.

Alcaraz has been in better form throughout the tournament. You could make the case that Djokovic would've been out of the tournament in the quarterfinals if Lorenzo Musetti didn't get injured. Djokovic lost the first two sets of that match.

As Djokovic proved against Sinner, it's foolish to ever count him out on the Grand Slam stage, especially in Melbourne, where he has 10 titles.
