Bettors Expected to Wager Record $1.76B on Patriots vs. Seahawks Super Bowl, Top Bets Revealed

Paul KasabianJan 29, 2026

Super Bowl LX will feature the AFC champion New England Patriots taking on the NFC-winning Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Feb. 8 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Per the American Gaming Association (h/t ESPN's David Payne Purdum), bettors are expected to wager a record $1.76 billion on this year's game. That represented a 27 percent year-to-year increase from last year, when the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

That number only includes bets places with legal American sportsbooks, which are legal in 39 of 50 American states plus the District of Columbia, per Purdum.

A few major bets have already been placed.

Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale, the founder and owner of Houston-area Gallery Furniture, placed a $2 million bet on an AFC team to win the Super Bowl at 2-1 odds prior to Championship Game weekend.

So Mattress Mack will win $4 million if the Pats are victorious. Mattress Mack does hedge his bets, though, as Jamil David of the Houston Chronicle explained.

"Even after health scares and massive losses, Houston's foremost furniture salesman is back in the sports betting saddle, wagering a large amount of money and, of course, hedging the bet with an in-store promotion: If customers spend $4,000 on a mattress and furniture with McIngvale's Gallery Furniture, and if the Patriots beat the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX, they get their money back on their purchase. But if they Pats lose, customers will not get refunded.

"McIngvale uses any increase in mattress sales from the gifts to hedge his overall exposure. For years, he has consistently linked such promotions to massive sports bets; he famously wagered on the Houston Astros to win the World Series in 2022 and won almost $75 million, said to be one of the biggest payouts in American sports betting history."

There has also been a wager of $1.2 million on the Patriots for this year's Super Bowl, per Purdum. No wagers of $1 million or more were placed on last year's game.

The Seahawks are 4.5-point favorites this year, per DraftKings Sportsbook. On the moneyline, Seattle is a -235 favorite, while New England is a +195 underdog.

Other notable bets include a 45.5-point over/under and anytime TD scorer (Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker II leads the way at -200).
