NASCAR Announces Updated Clash Schedule Amid Winter Weather in North Carolina
NASCAR has announced schedule changes to Cook Out Clash weekend in light of the winter storm that has impacted North Carolina, the home of the exhibition's events at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem.
The Clash will now take place on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET.
NASCAR had previously rescheduled the Clash for Monday at 6 p.m. ET (FOX).
The Cook Out Clash is a non-championship exhibition race to gear up for the NASCAR Cup Series season, which begins this year on Sunday, Feb. 15 with the Daytona 500. Chase Elliott won last year's Cook Out Clash, which was held in Bowman Gray Stadium for the first time ever.
North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein declared a state of emergency in advance of the storm.
Wednesday's forecast, as of 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, calls for a chance of rain and temperatures up to 43 degrees.
