Packers' Sean Mannion, Eagles Agree to Contract as OC for Jalen Hurts After Kevin Patullo Firing

The Philadelphia Eagles hired Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion to be their next offensive coordinator on Thursday.

Philadelphia will also add former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard to its staff as the new pass game coordinator:

The Eagles were in the market for a new offensive coordinator after parting ways with Kevin Patullo after one season.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will now work with his sixth offensive coordinator in seven seasons. According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, Mannion will call plays for Hurts and the offense.

Mannion starred as Oregon State's quarterback before the St. Louis Rams selected him with a third-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft.

He remained in the NFL through the 2023 season and also played with the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks. Mannion saw action in 14 games with three starts.

In 2024, Mannion became an offensive assistant with the Packers before being promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2025.

Last season, Packers' starting quarterback Jordan Love completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards (7.7 yards per attempt), 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. His 101.2 quarterback rating was ranked sixth in the NFL, and his 72.7 QBR ranked second.

Now Mannion continues his ascent up the coaching ranks to offensive coordinator. Last year's Eagles team finished just 19th in scoring, a large drop from the year before, when Philadelphia was seventh in points per game en route to a Super Bowl victory.

Patullo, who was promoted to OC after Kellen Moore left to be the New Orleans Saints' head coach, was let go after the Eagles fell in the NFC Wild Card round to the San Francisco 49ers.

Now Mannion arrives as the Eagles hope the new addition boosts an offense that has the talent to succeed but didn't click last year.
