Brooks Koepka made his first appearance at a PGA Tour event after leaving LIV Golf on Thursday, participating in the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

Koepka carded a 1-over 73 in Round 1, sitting in a tie for the No. 97 spot on the leaderboard.

The five-time major champion ran into some early trouble on the fourth hole, as his drive ended up in a fairway bunker and he was forced to three-putt for bogey.

Koepka had several chances to record birdies to close out the front nine, but struggled with his putter and ended up shooting 1-over 37 before heading to the back nine.

He made multiple par saves throughout the second half of the first round.

Another bogey on hole No. 13 put Koepka in some more trouble, although he ended the round on a high note with a birdie on No. 18.

It's worth noting that the 35-year-old started on Torrey Pines' challenging South Course and could find some more consistency when playing on the North Course in the second round.

Koepka announced Jan. 12 that he was returning to the PGA Tour after departing LIV Golf at the end of the 2025 season. He initially left to LIV in 2022.

Now, Koepka will attempt to climb up the leaderboard and avoid missing the cut in Friday's second round.
