The white threads might've been a very deliberate choice by New England. This is the same broad color combination from when the Pats beat the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX. On that occasion, their traditional navy pants accompanied their white jerseys, but the general idea is the same.
Coincidentally, Seattle was also wearing its home jersey when it lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XL. That dominant victory over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII came with the Seahawks wearing their away uniforms.
Thankfully for Mike Macdonald's squad, Kendall Jenner may have already jinxed the Patriots with the "Kardashian curse," thus counteracting the Seahawks' bad luck in all-navy.
