Script Ohio Is Pretty Cool and Other Saturday Observations

Being an Alabama fan living in the Columbus area, I could care less about what is going on with OSU football, but since I was listening to Alabama take care of FIU online, I was watching this week's "game of the century" on TV.

I've never seen script ohio before and paused to watch it on ESPN. I have to say it was one of the better pre-game ceremonies I've seen. It's up there with Tennessee opening the T and Auburn's eagle flying through the stadium. As an added bonus, you got to see what it's like to get bopped in the head with a sousaphone (not a tuba). 

Ohio State proved it can hang with the big teams, but um, so what. I mean, you are a preseason top 10 team for a reason. It was a valiant effort but when your D needed to make a stop it couldn't. By the end of the game I was unsure of who was starting the true freshmen QB.

Michigan won the shoot out with Notre Dame, but big deal, right? Michigan is much improved on offense but their D is terrible and as far as I'm concerned, beating Notre Dame isn't something to really brag about, but hey, if you're a big blue fan you have to start somewhere.

Oklahoma State? Last time I checked David Klingler was no longer the QB at Houston. Hope you enjoyed your one week stay in Contendersville.

I enjoyed UCLA's victory over Tennessee in Knoxville. Sure it hurts the SEC name, but hey, anything that shuts up Lane Kiffin is good by me. I think Florida is going to hang 50+ on the Vols next week.

Ruling out any monumental lapses by Penn State (Remember Iowa?) they should win the Big 10. The difference? Daryll Clark at QB. 

BYU didn't seem to have a letdown after their thumping, yes, thumping of Oklahoma. They stomped the Green Wave of Tulane 54-3. I would love to see BYU get to the BCS this year.
