It was Kakko's first win on the European Tour, per the Challenge Tour, which also shared his final shot on Twitter:

Pontus Widegren came into Sunday with a one-stroke lead, with Kakko and Henry tied for second just a stroke back and Brandon Stone two strokes behind. Widegren and Stone each shot even par for the day, however, and only Andrew McArthur was able to match Kakko's 63 on Sunday.

Kakko's dominance not only impressed, but it also earned him the praise and plaudits of one of his peers, golfer Phillip Archer:

He also caught the eye of ESPN's Jason Sobel, though for a slightly different reason:

Kakko will hope to take his hot form into the next Challenge Tour event, the Northern Ireland Open from August 6-9. His ranking will likely shoot up after this victory, and he certainly picked one of the finest tournaments at which to earn his first victory, as the Madeira Islands Open has the largest prize pool on the tour.

After his dominance over the weekend, he earned every Euro.
