Drake Maye Practice Status Update amid Shoulder Injury Ahead of Patriots vs. Seahawks Super Bowl 60

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye's status as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a shoulder injury is a "good sign" for his outlook against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

According to Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston, Maye was dealing with a right shoulder issue prior to New England's 10-7 win over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.

The 23-year-old discussed his shoulder injury during a recent WEEI Radio appearance.

"I'm feeling good," Maye said (h/t MassLive's Lauren Campbell). "We've got some extra rest. I don't think it's from the game. I think it's just the buildup of throwing, including training camp, 30 weeks straight of throwing and four days a week. It can add up. But I got some extra rest and I'm feeling good and ready to go for the Super Bowl."

"Right now I'm feeling good and looking forward to getting out there and preparing for the Seahawks and prepping to get ready to go," he added.

Maye has put together an impressive sophomore season, as he earned his second consecutive Pro Bowl nod and was named an MVP finalist. He completed 72.0 percent of his throws for 4,394 yards and 31 touchdowns compared to eight interceptions.

Maye's 77.1 QBR ranked No. 1 among 28 qualified quarterbacks during the regular season, via ESPN.

In the playoffs, he's completed 55.8 percent of his passes for 533 yards and four touchdowns while getting picked off twice. Maye has also rushed for 141 yards.

While he doesn't appear to be in any serious danger of missing New England's Super Bowl clash, the Patriots' path towards securing their seventh Lombardi Trophy is easier if he isn't hampered by shoulder issues.
