Is Eli Manning Getting Snubbed from Hall of Fame? NFL Fans Sound Off on Giants' Super Bowl MVP

Doric SamJan 28, 2026

For the second straight year, legendary NFL quarterback Eli Manning will be watching the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony from home.

The Athletic's Dan Duggan and Ian O'Connor reported that Manning once again fell short of the voting threshold for induction into the Hall of Fame in his second year of eligibility despite being one of the 15 modern-era finalists.

Manning, who spent his entire NFL career with the New York Giants, was a two-time Super Bowl MVP after spearheading title runs in the 2007 and 2011 seasons. He was also a four-time Pro Bowler and the 2016 Walter Payton Man of the Year.

Duggan and O'Connor pointed out that other players with multiple Super Bowl MVPs were first-ballot Hall of Famers, namely Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw and Bart Starr. Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes also belong to that group and likely will be first-ballot inductees once they become eligible.

With Manning being the only one who has to wait for his Hall of Fame induction, fans on social media couldn't help but wonder if he's being snubbed from his well-deserved enshrinement:

It's clear that the voting for this year's Pro Football Hall of Fame class is significantly strict, as legendary head coach Bill Belichick was also snubbed from induction despite his stellar resume.

Manning's older brother, Peyton, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021, and he's also a two-time champion and one-time Super Bowl MVP. The main distinction between the two brothers is regular-season success, as Peyton was a five-time NFL MVP and a 14-time Pro Bowler.

Despite the lack of accolades, Manning's postseason success shouldn't be ignored. The Giants were not favored to win the Super Bowl either time they made their runs to the Lombardi Trophy during his tenure, and his ability to rise to the occasion in the playoffs was the main reason for their victories.

For now, Manning will have to wait at least one more year before he gets the honor of being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
