Tom Brady Reacts to Bill Belichick's Hall of Fame Snub in Video, 'I Don't Understand It'

After winning six Super Bowl titles playing for Bill Belichick, Tom Brady had a strong reaction to his former head coach not making it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the first ballot.

Appearing on Seattle Sports 710's Brock & Salk show, Brady's response to the situation was "I don't understand it" and that no coach should ever be elected to the Hall on the first ballot if Belichick can't get in.

Per ESPN's Don Van Natta Jr. and Seth Wickersham, Belichick did not receive the minimum 40 votes needed for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year.

The vote was held on Jan. 13 during a meeting of the Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee to "discuss and debate the qualifications" of this year's finalists.

Belichick was one of 20 finalists being considered for induction in his first year on the ballot. It seemed like a given that he would be part of the Class of 2026 given his vast resume, particularly from his 24-year run as head coach of the New England Patriots.

During that period from 2000 to '23, Belichick led the Patriots to six titles in nine Super Bowl appearances. He also had 19 consecutive winning seasons from 2001 to '19, with double-digit wins in 17 straight years.

The Patriots' six Super Bowl titles are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most in NFL history. Their nine appearances in the Big Game under Belichick are more than any other team has had in NFL history. Four teams have reached the Super Bowl eight times.

Along with Belichick, the other key component of the Patriots' dynasty was Brady. He became the starter early in the 2001 season and put together arguably the best resume of any quarterback in the history of the NFL.

Brady won six of his seven Super Bowls with New England. The pairing of Belichick and Brady combined to go 219-64 in the regular season and won an additional 30 games in the playoffs.
