Raiders, Cardinals' Top HC Candidates After Todd Monken Reportedly Lands Browns HC Contract
The number of head coaching vacancies in the NFL is reportedly down to two.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cleveland Browns filled their opening by hiring former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator as their next head coach on Wednesday.
Monken's hiring in Cleveland leaves the Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals as the only two teams without a head coach.
Some of the top candidates remaining for the Raiders include Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, Denver Broncos passing game coordinator Davis Webb and Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.
Meanwhile, the options for the Cardinals could feature former Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile and Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur.
Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders went 3-14 in their lone season under Pete Carroll, who was the oldest coach in NFL history at 74 years old during the 2025 campaign.
It can be expected that Las Vegas will be looking for a more youthful option with the right experience to replace Carroll.
Kubiak, 38, has coaching in his blood as the oldest son of former NFL coach Gary Kubiak. He helped lead the Seahawks to Super Bowl LX, where they will face the New England Patriots, so no team can hire him until after the Big Game. Under his direction, Seattle ranked third in the NFL with 28.4 points per game and eighth with 351.4 total yards per game.
The 31-year-old Webb is just a few years removed from ending his playing career in 2022, and he's been a member of the Broncos coaching staff for the past three seasons. He's served as Denver's quarterbacks coach and added the title of pass game coordinator in 2025, helping second-year signal-caller Bo Nix throw for over 3,900 yards in his sophomore season in the NFL.
At 45 years old, Evero is the oldest option out of this bunch, but he's helped the Panthers make some steady improvements over the last three years. He would be able to help revamp a Raiders defense that allowed 317.8 total yards and 25.4 points per game in 2025. Carolina head coach Dave Canales said earlier this month that the team signed Evero to an extension, showing how valued he is within the organization.
Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are looking to replace Jonathan Gannon, who failed to achieve a winning record in three seasons at the helm and posted a 3-14 finish in 2025.
Over the weekend, The Athletic's Dianna Russini named Morris, Campanile and LaFleur as the "lead candidates" for the opening in Arizona.
Morris is the only candidate in this bunch with prior head coaching experience. Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill declared earlier this month that he wants his next head coach to lead a swift turnaround "in the first year, not in the second year," so it would make sense to hire someone who's used to being in the position.
Campanile established himself as a prime head coaching candidate for his impressive impact on the Jaguars, revamping a unit that allowed 25.6 points per game in 2024 to 19.8 points allowed this season.
LaFleur has spent the last three seasons working under Rams head coach Sean McVay and could be the latest branch of his famed coaching tree to establish roots elsewhere. As the only offensive candidate in this group, bringing him in could have significant ramifications on the future of Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, whose future with the franchise is in question this offseason.
