Super Bowl Odds 2026, Bold Box Score Predictions for Seahawks vs. Patriots

The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will compete for the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl LX.

The matchup is the most unlikely Super Bowl ever, with the chance of predicting the Patriots and Seahawks reaching the big game just 1 in 4,800 (0.02%).

The two franchises have not clashed on this stage since 2015, when the Seahawks fell one yard short of winning the top prize in pro football for the second consecutive year and in the process, brought about the second Patriots dynasty.

Prediction: New England Bottles Up Kenneth Walker III

Kenneth Walker III has been the lifeblood of the Seahawks offense for the majority of the season, a hard-running back who saw his importance to the team enhanced exponentially when backup Zach Charbonnet suffered a season-ending injury.

Against the Rams, he carried 19 times for 62 yards and a touchdown and while those numbers may not be spectacular, he took some of the pressure off of quarterback Sam Darnold in the process.

In the Super Bowl, the Patriots will have an answer for Walker and dare Darnold to beat them on the biggest stage in the NFL.

In three playoff appearances, against teams who like to run the ball, New England shut them down.

Against the Chargers in the Wild Card round, quarterback Justin Herbert was the leading rusher with just 57 yards. Woody Marks never got going for Houston, tallying just 17 yards on 14 carries. In the AFC Championship game against Denver, RJ Harvey managed 13 carries for 37 yards.

The Patriots' defense understood then that stopping the run and making the quarterback beat them was the surest path to victory and they will run that formula back one last time against Seattle, who may trust Sam Darnold but still must be wary about putting him in a position where he will be forced into some bad decision-making.

Prediction: Walker gets less than 50 yards on the ground, and the Seahawks' championship hopes rest on Darnold's arm.

Cooper Kupp Goes Off

Across the field from Cooper Kupp on Super Bowl Sunday will, at least on some plays, be cornerback Carlton Davis. They are no strangers to each other, especially in big-game settings.

That is not historically a good thing for Davis.

In the 2020 regular season, when Kupp played for the Rams against Davis and the Buccaneers, he caught 11 balls for 145 yards. Two years later, in two games against Tampa Bay, he caught 18 balls for 279 yards.

Kupp has historically played very well out of the slot against Davis, especially in big games. While neither is in their prime at this point in their career, and the former Super Bowl MVP has noticeably slowed down, this match-up sets up for another big-game performance out of the celebrated wide receiver.

In 16 games, Kupp managed 47 receptions, for 593 yards and two touchdowns.

Look for him to remind the league and its fans of his greatness, against an opponent he has cooked before in meaningful games.
