Dolphins' Tyreek Hill Praises 'Great' Zach Wilson Ahead of 2026 NFL Free Agency

Adam WellsJan 24, 2026

Tyreek Hill is ready with a recommendation for Zach Wilson if any NFL teams are interested in signing the former first-round pick when free agency begins.

Responding to a post on X, Hill called Wilson a "great" quarterback and locker room presence.

Hill and Wilson spent the 2025 season as teammates with the Miami Dolphins. Wilson signed a one-year deal with the club as a free agent last March to be Tua Tagovailoa's backup.

Then-Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that Wilson was a "phenomenal talent" when he watched his college tape, but he just "didn't have reps in an NFL pocket" coming out of BYU and that hindered his development:

"Like at BYU he was launching it from about 10 and 11 yards deep and you're not in the phone booth, and so my estimation, there was going to be some nuanced growth to his game that I think it is close to impossible to excel that early in that new form of football that he was playing."

Wilson didn't get many in-game reps with the Dolphins, despite Tagovailoa being benched for the final three games of the season. Quinn Ewers, a seventh-round rookie, got inserted as the starter.

The 26-year-old Wilson only played in four games with Miami. He went 6-of-11 for 32 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.

Wilson hasn't started a game since Week 15 of the 2023 season with the New York Jets. He spent all of 2024 with the Denver Broncos as their third-string quarterback, behind Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham.
