Australian Open 2026 Results, Winners, Losers and Highlights from Saturday's Bracket

Novak Djokovic made history on Saturday at the 2026 Australian Open.

Djokovic won his 400th match at a major tournament with his victory over Botic van de Zandschulp.

Djokovic is now one win away from earning his 16th quarterfinal appearance in Melbourne.

He isn't the favorite in the men's singles draw, but he's played as well as anyone through three rounds.

Men's No. 2 seed Jannik Sinner was one of a two top seeds that received an unexpected challenge on Saturday.

Sinner dropped the first set of his match to American Eliot Spizzirri. The Italian recovered to win the next three sets.

Women's No. 2 seed Iga Swiatek lost the middle set of her three-set victory over No. 31 seed Anna Kalinskaya.

Swiatek was the only one of the women ranked in the top 10 who played on Saturday to lose a set.

The American trio of Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys and Amanda Anisimova all won in straight sets.

Novak Djokovic continued to set records in Melbourne with his 400th Grand Slam victory.

Djokovic won his 100th Australian Open match earlier in the tournament.

The No. 4 seed hasn't lost a set yet in Melbourne, but now the real work begins for the winningest male in Australian Open history.

Djokovic plays his first seeded opponent in the fourth round in the form of No. 16 seed Jakub Mensik.

After that, Djokovic would play the winner of the Lorenzo Musetti-Taylor Fritz match. Jannik Sinner awaits in the semifinals if he gets there.

Sinner experienced a small scare on Saturday, as he dropped the first set to American Eliot Spizzirri.

Sinner rallied to win the next three sets to clinch his spot in the fourth round.

Sinner faces fellow Italian Luciano Darderi in the fourth round. He could face American Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals.

Shelton and Fritz both won again on Saturday. They are the two best American male hopefuls to win down under.

No. 5 Elena Rybakina def. Tereza Valentova, 6-2, 6-3

No. 6 Jessica Pegula def. Oksana Selekmetova, 6-3, 6-2

No. 9 Madison Keys def. Karolina Pliskova, 6-3, 6-3

Xin Wang def. No. 13 Linda Noskova, 7-5, 6-4

No. 21 Elise Mertens def. Nikola Bartunkova, 6-0, 6-4

All five of the top 10 seeds in the bottom half of the women's singles draw advanced to the fourth round on Saturday.

Amanda Anisimova, Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys all took care of business in straight sets.

Iga Swiatek, the highest seed of the quintet, faced a bit of trouble in the second set against No. 31 seed Anna Kalinskaya. Swiatek lost the second set 6-1 before she rebounded to win the third set by the same score.

Pegula and Keys each picked up their third consecutive straight-set victory. Those wins set up a head-to-head battle between the Americans in the fourth round.

Keys, the reigning champion in Melbourne, and Pegula, a three-time quarterfinalist at the season's first major, face off in the only fourth-round match featuring a pair of top-10 seeds.

Swiatek and Anisimova each face unseeded players in the fourth round. Swiatek takes on Australian Madison Inglis, who advanced via walkover due to an injury to Naomi Osaka.

The fourth round begins on Sunday with top seed Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff in action.
