Cameron Smotherman Collapses at UFC 324 Weigh-In Ahead of Ricky Turcios Fight
Cameron Smotherman collapsed after making weight and stepping off the scale at Friday's weigh-in ahead of his fight with Ricky Turcios at UFC 324, according to ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
Per Okamoto, Smotherman was eventually conscious and sitting up while he was being tended to by physicians. He was later carried off the stage and "presumably" placed on a stretcher, Okamoto reported.
UFC subsequently canceled the fight.

Smotherman was "drinking electrolytes and responsive" prior to being carried off the stage, per Sportsnet's Aaron Bronsteter.
The 28-year-old was initially supposed to face Turcios in a three-round bantamweight fight on the preliminary card before a main card that's headlined by a lightweight bout between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett.
Smotherman owns a 12-6 record in his professional MMA career and is 1-2 in the UFC.
He opened his UFC tenure with a unanimous decision win over Jake Hadley in Oct. 2024 before suffering consecutive losses, failing to defeat Serhiy Sidey and Ricky Simon.
Friday's weigh-in also included Deiveson Figueiredo and Alex Perez missing weight ahead of their fights against Umar Nurmagomedov and Charles Johnson, respectively.
Both bouts are still expected to occur, though.
