Matt Nagy, Giants Reportedly Agree to OC Contract for John Harbaugh, Jaxson Dart

The New York Giants and head coach John Harbaugh have found their offensive coordinator.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday that Matt Nagy agreed to be the new offensive coordinator after leaving the Kansas City Chiefs.

Nagy is coming off a three-year stint in Kansas City, his second go-round in that role there. The Chiefs offense steadily went backward, finishing ninth in yards in 2023 and slipping to 20th in 2025.

Nagy also coached the Chicago Bears from 2018-21. They went 12-4 and made the playoffs in his first year but then failed to post a winning record before he was fired after a 6-11 finish in 2021.

News of his hiring in New York comes after ESPN's Peter Schrager reported last week that the Giants planned to meet with Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, who is also interviewing for the same job with the Philadelphia Eagles.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported the Giants also planned to interview Colts pass-game coordinator Alex Tanney.

ESPN's Adam Schefter previously reported New York was interested in Denver Broncos passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb for the job, who ultimately decided to remain with the Broncos.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero added that Giants wide receivers coach Robert Prince interviewed for the job two weeks ago.

Todd Monken was seemingly the frontrunner to serve as Harbaugh's offensive coordinator all along after their time together in Baltimore, but the Cleveland Browns swooped in last week and named the 59-year-old their head coach.
