Predictions for Cody Rhodes, Jacob Fatu, WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Match Card
Before WWE heads to Saudi Arabia for this year's Royal Rumble, it's taking a trip to Canada for another edition of Saturday Night's Main Event.
As of Friday morning, three matches have been confirmed for the show at the Bell Center in Montreal:
It's possible another match gets added during Friday's SmackDown, but for now, this is the card we are working with.
Let's go through each bout and make some predictions.
Jacob Fatu Defeats Cody Rhodes
1 of 4
Two men who used to be on good terms will step into the ring Saturday when Rhodes and Fatu lock up.
This feud began when Fatu returned and attacked Drew McIntyre during his recent WWE Championship match with Rhodes. The plan backfired and it led to the Scot escaping the cage to win.
Rhodes was obviously heated following the loss and immediately called out The Samoan Werewolf the following week, which has led to this bout.
With The American Nightmare now traveling with a little less gold, he doesn't need to be booked to win every encounter in order to keep his momentum high.
Fatu is fresh off an injury and WWE is going to want him back in the main event scene, and beating a former world champion would go a long way toward making that a reality.
WWE can even throw in some interference from McIntyre if it wants to keep Rhodes from taking a clean loss, but either way, it feels like Fatu is leaving SNME with his hand raised.
Prediction: Fatu wins
Rhiyo Retains
2 of 4
Liv Morgan has only been back on the road for a short time, but she is already set to challenge for a title when she and Roxanne Perez take on Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky for the women's tag titles.
If Rhiyo had held the belts for a few months already, this would probably end with a title change, but they only won the titles from The Kabuki Warriors a little over two weeks ago, so the odds of them dropping the gold this soon are slim.
This will be a competitive match with The Judgment Day trying some dirty tactics, possibly with Raquel Rodriguez involved, but it's going to end with Ripley and Sky leaving with the titles.
Prediction: Rhiyo retains
Trick Williams Gets the Upset Victory
3 of 4
Four men will battle for a future title shot this weekend. Zayn, Orton and Priest are all veterans who have held multiple titles in WWE, but Williams is the new guy on the block.
While he has had plenty of success in NXT, Trick Willy is looking for his first breakout win on the main roster, and this is the perfect opportunity to give it to him.
The great thing about giving him the win is that he doesn't have to go on to win the world title. Simply beating three top talents and earning a World Heavyweight Championship match this early in his run is enough to give him a significant push.
Williams will definitely lose to McIntyre at the Royal Rumble, but they will put on a good show together.
This may be the underdog pick, but it feels like the ideal time to catapult Williams up the roster. The other three competitors can all try their luck in the men's Rumble match.
Prediction: Williams wins
