Latest Raiders Rumors Reveal Top 2 HC Candidates, Strategy Around 2026 NFL Draft No. 1 Pick
The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly "believed to be focusing on an offensive-minded head coach to pair with the likely No. 1 overall pick, Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza," according to reporter Jordan Schultz.
He added that two names he's heard in that regard are Seattle Seahawks' offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and Denver Broncos pass-game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb, though Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter has also been mentioned.
On Thursday, Schultz reported the Raiders "made a very strong push" to land Minter before the defensive coordinator chose the Baltimore Ravens.
The Raiders have cast a wide net, however, and the only second interviews reported on thus far have been a pair of defensive coordinators.
With Mendoza the likely pick at No. 1 and the exciting young pair of tight end Brock Bowers and running back Ashton Jeanty already in the fold, the Raiders have some exciting pieces on offense. That could make an up-and-coming offensive mind the right person to pair with Mendoza going forward.
