Bo Nix Reflects on 'Devastating' Ankle Injury in IG Photo Amid Broncos' NFL Playoff Run

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, who suffered a fractured bone in his right ankle during his team's 33-30 win over the Buffalo Bills during the AFC Divisional round last Saturday, reflected on the season-ending injury in an Instagram post, noting that it was "the most devastating football news I've ever received."

The Broncos selected Nix with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He led Denver to a 10-win season and a playoff appearance in his rookie year, breaking the Broncos' eight-year streak outside the playoffs.

In year two, Nix guided Denver to a 14-win campaign and the AFC's No. 1 seed. He's accounted for 63 total touchdowns (54 passing, nine rushing) over two years.

Nix fared well in his first playoff game, throwing for 279 yards and three touchdowns (one interceptions) and 29 rushing yards against the Bills.

Unfortunately, Nix's season is over. Now Broncos backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham will take over as Denver looks for its fourth Lombardi Trophy.

Stidham last threw a pass in an NFL regular season game in 2023, when he started a pair of games for Denver after Russell Wilson was benched late in the season. Stidham led Denver to a 1-1 record while completing 40-of-66 passes for 496 yards and two touchdowns (one interception).

Denver will now host the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. Kickoff on Sunday is set for 3 p.m. ET.
