Updated 2026 MLB World Series Odds After Yankees' Rumored Cody Bellinger Contract

Scott PolacekJan 21, 2026

Cody Bellinger is reportedly coming back to the New York Yankees, and only the Los Angeles Dodgers have better World Series odds than the Bronx Bombers.

ESPN's Jeff Passan reported Wednesday that the Yankees re-signed Bellinger on a five-year, $162.5 million deal that featured opt-outs following the second and third seasons, as well as a $20 million signing bonus and full no-trade clause.

According to Action Network, as of Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. ET, the Yankees have +950 consensus odds (bet $100 to win $950) to win the Fall Classic this season.

Here is a look at the top odds:

  • Los Angeles Dodgers, +225
  • New York Yankees, +950
  • Seattle Mariners, +1,200
  • Philadelphia Phillies, +1,300
  • Toronto Blue Jays, +1300

While Bellinger has dealt with some inconsistency throughout his career, playing at Yankee Stadium seemed to suit his game well.

He slashed .272/.334/.480 with 29 home runs, 98 RBI and 13 stolen bases last season, which was his first in New York and represented quite an improvement from 2024 when he slashed .266/.325/.426 with 28 home runs and 78 RBI with the Chicago Cubs.

Bellinger will likely never quite produce at the same level as he did in 2019 when he was the National League MVP for the Dodgers, but he was a key bat for the Yankees in the middle of their lineup and figures to remain one moving forward.

He figures to have plenty of chances with runners on base and should see plenty of ideal pitches batting behind Aaron Judge and ahead of Giancarlo Stanton, and keeping that left-handed pop helps balance out an already loaded lineup.

Still, everyone is looking up at the Dodgers when it comes to World Series odds for a reason.

They won the title in each of the last two years and added four-time All-Star Kyle Tucker to the lineup this offseason. They are the favorites until proven otherwise, although the Yankees at least took an important step Wednesday.
