'Goofy S--t,' Dana White Downplays Possible Conor McGregor-Jorge Masvidal Fight on White House Card

The rumored fight between UFC stars Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal at this summer's White House event appears to be nothing more than just rumors.

UFC president Dana White completely shot down the notion of a planned fight between McGregor and Masvidal, telling TMZ it's "goofy s--t."

"Almost everything you see on the internet about our sport is wrong," White told Michael Babcock on the TMZ Sports show on FS1 this week. "It's all wrong."

During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show earlier this week, Masvidal said a fight between him and McGregor at the White House card on June 14 is "not looking bad right now" and declared his confidence that he could defeat the Irishman.

"They're talking, dialogue has been open, there's communication there, and we'll keep that communication going," Masvidal said. "I'm going to beat the f--king dog s--t out of him. Straight-up, stand-up style. None of that grappling. I'm just going to get in your face, knee your ribs, elbow your f--king face."

Masvidal hasn't fought in the UFC since a loss to Gilbert Burns in his retirement fight in April 2023. He faced longtime rival Nate Diaz in a boxing match in July 2024 and lost via majority decision.

McGregor has made it clear that he hopes to make his long-awaited UFC return at the White House event, but the comments from White make it seem like Masvidal won't be his opponent if he gets his wish.
