Carlos Alcaraz hasn't lost a set through two rounds in Melbourne.
Alcaraz needed a first-set tiebreak win to kickstart his match against Yannick Hanfmann. He then won the final two sets with relative ease.
While he hasn't lost a set yet, Alcaraz has been taken to a tiebreak twice in six sets. That might be something to watch as the tournament goes on and the top-seeded Spaniard faces tougher opposition.
Alcaraz is guaranteed to face a seeded player in the next two rounds. American Tommy Paul could face the top seed with a third-round win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
Paul cruised through both of his opening matches in Australia. He has a semifinal and quarterfinal appearance over the last three years in Melbourne, so he could pose a threat to Alcaraz if he makes it into the fourth round.
Learner Tien is another American to watch in the top half of the men's singles draw. The No. 25 seed will be favored in his third-round match and could face Daniil Medvedev in the fourth round.
Tien won in four sets on Wednesday. He lost a single game in the final two sets.
Alexander Zverev, Alex De Minaur and Andrey Rublev were among the other notable winners on Wednesday. De Minaur could be Alcaraz's quarterfinal opponent. If that match happens, De Minaur would have the home crowd on his side in his attempt to knock off the top seed.
First, De Minaur has to get past a resurgent Frances Tiafoe. The 29th-seeded American played well in his opening two matches in Melbourne.

No. 3 Coco Gauff def. Olga Danilovic, 6-2, 6-2
No. 7 Jasmine Paolini def. Magdalena Frech, 6-2, 6-3
No. 8 Mirra Andreeva def. Maria Sakkari, 6-0, 6-4
No. 12 Elina Svitolina def. Linda Klimovicova, 7-5, 6-1
No. 14 Clara Tauson def. Polina Kudermetova, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5
No. 17 Victoria Mboko def. Catherine McNally, 6-4, 6-3
No. 19 Karolina Muchova def. Alycia Parks, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4
No. 23 Diana Shnaider def. Talia Gibson, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3
Anastasia Potapova def. No. 28 Emma Raducanu, 7-6 (3), 6-2
No. 29 Iva Jovic def. Priscilla Hon, 6-1, 6-2
Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff lost eight combined games across the four sets they played in Melbourne on Wednesday.
Sabalenka, the best hard-court player in the world, had yet another easy win early in a major.
The No. 1 seed might only face two seeded players before the semifinals due to upsets in her portion of the draw.
Gauff has a more difficult path to a potential semifinal with Sabalenka.
A clash with No. 8 seed Mirra Andreeva is looming in the quarterfinals. Andreeva was dominant in her second-round win over Maria Sakkari.
Gauff was one of three American women to win on Wednesday. No. 29 seed Iva Jovic looked as impressive as the No. 3 seed in her straight-set win.
Jovic takes on No. 7 seed Jasmine Paolini in the third round.
Hailey Baptiste, the other American winner on Wednesday, faces Gauff in an all-American clash on Friday.
