Hyde Active for Week 6
Sunday, Oct. 18
The 49ers announced Hyde was not on the list of inactive players against the Baltimore Ravens.
Head coach Jim Tomsula implied Friday that Hyde, who was officially listed as questionable, would play after the running back returned to practice during the team period on Thursday, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
Latest on Hyde's Practice Status Ahead of Week 6
Thursday, Oct. 15
Hyde completed "individual work" before exiting practice and was officially listed as limited, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.
On Wednesday, Tomsula did not originally mention Hyde as a player expected to miss practice, although the running back ended up not practicing because of his foot, per Maiocco.
Hyde's Foot Injury Latest Minor Ailment to Crop Up
This isn't the first time Hyde has been banged up this season.
He suffered a thigh contusion in the team's Week 2 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it would not keep him out of the team's Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
On Sept. 21, Ed Werder of ESPN passed along comments from Coach Tomsula, who said Hyde also passed a concussion check during the game after taking a hit to his head.
Hyde previously dealt with a nagging calf problem that hindered him throughout the 49ers' offseason program. It's an issue that also popped up during his rookie campaign.
He's been able to avoid any major injuries, which is the most important thing. That's especially true as he takes on a more vital role in the San Francisco offense.
Mike Davis and Jarryd Hayne could both see an uptick in their offensive involvement if Hyde is forced to miss time.
