LeSean McCoy Rips Bills for Not Firing Brandon Beane, 'NO HELP for' Josh Allen, Roster

Former Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is among those puzzled by the team's personnel decisions Monday.

The franchise announced it fired head coach Sean McDermott, while general manager Brandon Beane is not only sticking around but also getting another title (president of football operations).

McCoy had a scathing assessment and argued Beane is responsible for putting a subpar supporting cast around franchise quarterback Josh Allen:

The logic behind firing McDermott is at least understandable. He had a .662 winning percentage in the regular season, but zero Super Bowl appearances in nine seasons is tough to overlook when Allen, 29, isn't getting any younger.

But getting rid of McDermott while keeping Beane — and promoting him no less — is much tougher to square.

Beane is the GM who positioned Keon Coleman to be the heir apparent to Stefon Diggs at wide receiver. And Coleman is far from the only whiff in the draft by this front office.

It's a similar story in free agency, where the Bills haven't had many home-run signings while assembling a sizable payroll.

It doesn't take much for an organization's championship window to shrink or close altogether.

In 2022, the Cincinnati Bengals were one win away from a second straight Super Bowl appearance. They've yet to reach the playoffs since then.

One year out of the postseason has posed big questions surrounding the Detroit Lions and coach Dan Campbell.

A sense of unease is probably starting to grow in Western New York with McDermott gone and Beane consolidating his power.
