Rams' Poona Ford Shows Sock on Video After Using Cayenne Pepper to Stay Warm in Bears Playoff Game
The Los Angeles Rams used an unconventional method to keep warm in their frigid matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Several Rams players put Cayenne pepper in their socks to help negate the near-zero temperatures at Soldier Field. Defensive tackle Poona Ford said that the team started doing it during a previous matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

"There were some guys on the team pouring cayenne pepper on their feet," safety Kam Curl told MMQB's Albert Breer following the game. "That's something I've never seen before. I didn't try it this time, but they said it worked. So I'm going to think about it. But I might not do it. That was pretty crazy."
The spicy sock method must have worked, as the Rams handled business and beat the Bears in overtime to advance to the NFC championship game for the first time since 2021. They'll face the Seattle Seahawks with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line next Sunday.
