2026 AFC Title Game Will Feature Incredible Stat Involving Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes
The AFC title game is set as the Denver Broncos will face the New England Patriots.
This year's game will lack a few familiar faces, as it will mark the first time since 2010 that neither Tom Brady nor Patrick Mahomes will play in it.
Brady led the Patriots to eight consecutive AFC Championship games from 2011 to 2018, winning five of those games. He faced Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC title game in 2018.
After Brady left the Patriots to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019, Mahomes kept the streak alive, leading Kansas City to seven consecutive AFC title games from 2018 to last year.
It's fair to say that the AFC has been dominated by those two quarterbacks over the last decade-plus, considering Brady has won nine AFC Championship games and Mahomes has won five, but the next decade could belong to a new generation of quarterbacks.
While Mahomes is still around, his conference has plenty of young talent with players like Drake Maye of the Patriots, Bo Nix of the Broncos and more.
Fellow stars like Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson are also still hanging around.
