Richard Sherman Suggests Sean Payton Could Call Tom Brady to Replace Bo Nix 'May Break the Internet'

With Bo Nix now sidelined for the remainder of the playoffs with a fractured ankle he suffered during the Denver Broncos' AFC Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills, the AFC West team could be looking for last-minute quarterback help.

And Richard Sherman has quite the idea.

Sherman took to social media Sunday and suggested Sean Payton and the Broncos could "break the internet" and give Tom Brady a call:

The 48-year-old former quarterback is now working as a broadcaster for Fox and hasn't played since the 2022 campaign. But he is also the same legend who led the league with 5,316 passing yards and 43 touchdown throws in his age-44 season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He also led Tampa Bay to the playoffs in his age-45 season the following year.

If anyone could join the fold and lead the Broncos to the Super Bowl with no practice time and years removed from the game, it might be the seven-time Super Bowl champion who is widely considered the greatest of all-time.

This was also the season the Indianapolis Colts shocked the NFL world and brought 44-year-old Philip Rivers back because of their own injury issues at quarterback. Rivers hadn't played since the 2020 campaign but still started three games for the Colts down the stretch.

Still, calling Brady is an unrealistic scenario, and the Broncos will surely stick with backup Jarrett Stidham.

"Stiddy is ready to go," Payton told reporters. "... He's ready, he's ready. I feel like I've got a two who's capable of starting for a number of teams, and I know he feels the same way. Watch out, just watch."

If Stidham figures out a way to defeat the New England Patriots or Houston Texans in the AFC Championship Game and then leads the Broncos to a Lombardi Trophy, he will become a franchise legend.

It might even "break the internet," too.
