The squeaky wheel gets the grease. LaVance Taylor, an undrafted running back from the Central Missouri Mules (D-II), knows this.

Taylor squeaked a 12-minute highlight reel of himself to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday.

On Friday, he had himself a deal:

LaVance Taylor @LaVance_TCT

@KCChiefs hey my name is LaVance Taylor and I am currently a free agent and I wanted you to check me out. http://t.co/T8sD9L8pTs

Kansas City needed extra depth in the backfield after "Keshawn Hill—the only running back in attendance during the early portion of camp—went down with a hamstring injury," per Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star.

Taylor taught us all a valuable lesson: It can't hurt to ask.

Good for him.

Update from Sunday, Aug. 2 at 5:50 p.m. ET

Unfortunately for Taylor, his stint with the Chiefs didn't last very long.
