Paige Bueckers Scores 25 as Cameron Brink, Breeze Lose to Rhyne Howard, Vinyl in Unrivaled

Paige Bueckers, Cameron Brink and the Breeze dropped their second Unrivaled game of the season, falling 81-66 to Rhyne Howard and the Vinyl on Saturday.

Bueckers led the Breeze with 25 points on 9-of-20 shooting as the team slipped to 2-2, with back-to-back losses coming against defending champion Rose and the Vinyl. The Unrivaled rookie also added seven assists and eight rebounds in the loss.

Brink provided a spark off the bench with seven points, four rebounds and two blocks while Rickea Jackson stayed hot with 13 points and four rebounds. Dominique Malonga also added 13 points along with nine rebounds.

The Vinyl's Brittney Griner finished with 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Dearica Hamby added 21 points and six rebounds and Howard led the team with 30 points as the Vinyl improved to 2-2 early in the season.

The Vinyl built a commanding 20-point halftime lead, going up 50-28 before a late two-point free throw by Jackson trimmed the margin for the Breeze heading into the break.

Jackson led the Breeze with 10 points at halftime, while Malonga added 10. Bueckers struggled early, scoring four points on 1-of-8 shooting from the field, and Brink finished the half with three points.

The Vinyl's Howard led all scorers at halftime with 19 points and six rebounds.

After three quarters, the Vinyl held a 70-49 advantage with the target score set at 81. Despite a 7-0 run by the Breeze, the deficit proved too large to overcome as the Vinyl closed out the win.

The Breeze will return to action Monday against Breanna Stewart, Allisha Gray, Arike Ogunbowale and the Mist.
