Yankees' Jazz Chisholm Jr. to Play for Great Britain at 2026 WBC, Which MLB Players Are on Roster?

Timothy RappJan 16, 2026

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. has reportedly committed to play for Great Britain at the 2026 World Baseball Classic, according to WBC writer Shawn Spradling.

Boston Red Sox closer Aroldis Chapman and Washington Nationals catcher Harry Ford are the other MLB players reportedly set to be on the Great Britain roster for the WBC.

Great Britain has not officially confirmed any of its participating players, however.

Chisholm had originally committed to play for the country at the 2023 WBC but ultimately didn't participate. The hope in the country has been that he would headline the 2026 squad.

"Everybody wants it to happen," Great Britain delegation head Gary Anderson told reporters in December. "I think every club wants to make sure their players are going to be looked after. In Great Britain, we make sure we have that infrastructure around them, working with MLB to make sure the players are well looked after. We're hoping to know mid-January what our final roster will be. ... But we're very hopeful."

Chisholm, 27, hit .242 with 31 homers, 80 RBI, 75 runs, 31 stolen bases and a .813 OPS in 2025, earning his second career All-Star nod.

He has thrived since being acquired by the Yankees in the 2024 season, posting a .816 OPS across 176 games. In parts of five seasons with the Miami Marlins, meanwhile, he registered a .749 OPS.

He will undoubtedly be the most dangerous hitter Great Britain features if he indeed participates in this year's WBC.
