Lewis Bond NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Houston Texans WR

Damian ParsonFeb 2, 2026

The Houston Texans selected Boston College WR Lewis Bond with the No. 204 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

Lewis Bond is a productive chain-mover with pro-caliber ball skills. He is a quicker than fast athlete.

He has a compact, running back-style build and a frame suited for working the short and intermediate parts of the field.

Bond was an accomplished pass-catcher for Boston College. The 3-star recruit from the 2021 class is BC's now all-time leading receptions leader and is fifth all-time in receiving yards. He's proven to be a reliable weapon in the passing game.

Dame Parson is the lead host of the Locked On NFL Draft podcast. He also serves as co-host of the Scouting Room NFL Podcast alongside Daniel Harms.

Where He Wins

2 of 5
COLLEGE FOOTBALL: SEP 21 Michigan State at Boston College

- Has a compact frame and plays with a fearless demeanor to operate in high-traffic areas and occupy the middle of the field.

- Finds grass quickly versus zone defenses and settles into the void. Processes second- and third-level defenders' drops in zone and adjusts his routes on the fly.

- Excels at running routes suited for quick passing concepts, like sticks, spot, mesh, Texas (RB alignment) and option routes, which highlight his feel for space and chain-moving ability.

- Quick and fluid mover with the hip swivel to change directions and separate from the defense quickly. Decisive and quick transitioning from receiver to runner for yards after the catch.

- Displays good balance through contact after the catch with the leg drive to continue forward momentum.

Areas of Improvement

3 of 5
COLLEGE FOOTBALL: NOV 29 Boston College at Syracuse

- Vertical athleticism and speed appear to be below-average. Cornerbacks will feel comfortable running stride for stride with Bond.

- Lacks the hand-fighting consistency to fend off handy and physical press corners. Improving this aspect of his game will help him get open more quickly.

- Does not offer a large catch radius to out-position longer-limbed defensive backs at the catch point.
