Amanda Serrano Eyes Amanda Nunes Fight at UFC 324 After Kayla Harrison's Injury
UFC Hall of Famer Amanda Nunes' return to the Octagon has been delayed after bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison withdrew from their co-main event fight at UFC 324 due to neck surgery, but another star is volunteering to be the replacement.
Boxing star and unified featherweight champion Amanda Serrano made it clear that she would welcome the opportunity to face Nunes in an MMA fight.
"I'm up for the challenge. I'm always up for the challenge," Serrano told TMZ.

Serrano has three career MMA fights under her belt and has an undefeated record of 2-0-1, with both of her wins coming by submission. Her last fight was in June 2021, but she said that she's continued her MMA training throughout the years.
"Listen, I'm undefeated. I have three MMA fights. I know a little thing or two about fighting. To this day, I still throw my kicks at the bag. I'm still throwing sprawls," Serrano said, adding that she also trains with her high school wrestler nephew weekly.
UFC 324 is just a few days away on Jan. 24, but Serrano said she could be ready to step in on short notice.
"I just fought January 3rd, and I was in amazing shape, and I'm still at it. I took maybe two days off just to heal a little bit, and then I was right back in the gym," she said. "I love this sport. I love to fight. I love challenges. And this is a big challenge, but I'm up for it. I'm all in."
Nunes hasn't fought since May 2023 when she vacated her bantamweight title, and her return fight against Harrison was one of the most highly anticipated women's fights in MMA history. While it's unlikely that Serrano would get the chance to step in at UFC 324, it's certainly fun to dream about a potential matchup between two of the greatest women's combat sports fighters of all time.
