Michael Thomas Confirms Wild Sean Payton Story About Super Bowl Trophy in Saints Locker Room
Sean Payton had an interesting motivation tactic when he was the head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
The former Saints head coach and current Denver Broncos head coach brought a Super Bowl trophy and a large sum of money into New Orleans' locker room and told the team that if they wanted it, they needed to "win three f--king games."
Former Saints receiver Michael Thomas confirmed the story on social media.

The motivation tactic from Payton didn't exactly work, as the Saints never won a Super Bowl during his second tenure—though they did win in 2009 during his first stint.
The closest New Orleans came to winning it all in Payton's second stint was an NFC Championship appearance in 2018.
Now the head coach of the Broncos, Payton might have to re-introduce his method of motivating a team. Denver had a dominant regular season, finishing 14-3 to claim the AFC's top seed, but the Broncos have a tough test in the divisional round as they face the Buffalo Bills on Saturday.
