30-Year-Old Jags OC Grant Udinski Interviews for Browns HC Job After John Harbaugh Rumors

Now that the Jacksonville Jaguars' season is over following their playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills, offensive coordinator Grant Udinski is now a head-coaching candidate elsewhere.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler first reported Monday that the Cleveland Browns—who had been connected to John Harbaugh at times this offseason—eyed Udinski, who turned 30 years old Tuesday.

Cleveland hiring Udinski would be a historic move.

The Los Angeles Rams made Sean McVay the youngest head coach in the NFL's modern era when they hired him in January 2017. He was 30 years and 11 months old at the time, and the move has certainly paid off for the Rams considering they have made two Super Bowls and won a Lombardi Trophy during his tenure.

Udinski would be younger than McVay at the time and quite a noteworthy hire.

He was an assistant for the Carolina Panthers for two seasons and an offensive assistant for the Minnesota Vikings for three seasons prior to becoming Jacksonville's offensive coordinator for the 2025 campaign.

While Jacksonville head coach Liam Coen also has an offensive background and played a role in the team's success this season, Udinski deserves plenty of credit. The Jaguars finished sixth in the league in points on the way to a 13-4 record and AFC South crown.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for a career-high 29 touchdowns and played some of the best football in the league for extended stretches near the end of the regular season.

Considering Cleveland's offense was 31st in the league in points this season, it could certainly use a boost on that side of the ball. Perhaps that will give Udinski a better opportunity in the interview process, even if he is younger than every other NFL head coach.
