Eagles OC Kevin Patullo Reportedly Expected to be Fired amid 'Mass Changes' after Loss to 49ers
After the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles' quest for a second straight Super Bowl title came to a swift end in a loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card Round on Sunday, it sounds like a major overhaul is coming this offseason.
During Monday's episode of Get Up, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the expectation is that the Eagles are set make some significant changes, starting with firing offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.
"When you speak to people around the league, they expect there to be mass changes there to jump-start the offense," Schefter said. "So, you're looking at a new offensive coordinator next year, that's the expectation there across the league."

Patullo has been a member of Philadelphia's coaching staff since 2021, starting out as the team's pass game coordinator before being promoted to offensive coordinator for the 2025 season following the departure of Kellen Moore, who is now the head coach of the New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately, the Eagles' offense regressed mightily under his guidance, going from averaging 367.2 yards and 27.2 points in 2024 to 311.2 yards and 22.3 points this year.
In Sunday's 23-19 loss against San Francisco, Philadelphia was outgained 361-307, with star quarterback Jalen Hurts throwing for just 168 yards and a touchdown as his season came to an end.
Throughout the season, Eagles fans made their unhappiness with the offense clear, going as far as chanting "Fire Kevin!" during a 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 13. Still, head coach Nick Sirianni said at the time that he wouldn't take away play-calling duties from Patullo.
Now, the Eagles are entering the offseason facing significant questions about whether they will keep their core intact. In addition to the changes coming to the coaching staff, Schefter explained that Philadelphia is considering tough roster decisions, namely the possibility of trading star receiver A.J. Brown.
"We'll see how they decide to handle the roster. We heard at the trade deadline A.J. Brown wanted to be trade, didn't want to be traded. His name came up, it didn't come up. I would think with an entire offseason, with the year they're coming off of, that'll be another name that comes up as a potential trade candidate this offseason," Schefter said. "We could think of any number of homes, I think there was a coach who had him in Tennessee who probably would like to have him again in New England. That would be a logical conclusion to draw. But they're going to go through some changes, I think it starts with the coaching staff in Philadelphia on the offensive side of the football. The question is, how soon are those changes going to happen? Is it today? Is it tomorrow?"
