Nick Sirianni Reveals Message to Eagles After 2026 NFL Playoff Bracket Loss to 49ers
After finishing the 2024-25 season as Super Bowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles faced a crushing wild-card round loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Following the loss, head coach Nick Sirianni encouraged his players to learn from the pain of losing and come back stronger next year.
"Let the pain shape you to what you want to be," Sirianni said.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Eagles' mediocre season came to an end with a disappointing performance against the Niners. Quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for just 168 yards and a touchdown on 20-of-35 passing, and his WR1, A.J. Brown, had just three receptions for 25 yards.
Saquon Barkley had a solid game with 106 yards, but had just 35 yards on 11 carries in the second half.
Philadelphia had a chance to score and take the lead, but turned it over on downs when Hurts' pass went into a swarm of 49ers' defenders on fourth down. San Francisco was then able to run the clock out and seal the win.
"We've got to take advantage of opportunities when they're there," Hurts told reporters after the game. "…We've responded with touchdowns. I take ownership with not putting points up on the board."
The Eagles are now entering a pivotal offseason as they try to put together a team capable of competing for a Super Bowl again. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what went wrong for Philadelphia, as it had plenty of talent, but saw regression in most units.
The Eagles had the top defense in the NFL in 2024, but ranked 13th in yards allowed per game this season. Their 2024 offense produced the seventh-most points per game (27.2), while this year's squad ranked 19th (22.3) in that category.
Whether it be a coaching change or major changes to the roster, it's clear Philadelphia needs to do something.
